Arguement Reflection
This was the busiest writing assignment. I feel that even though we have had a ton of practice with the dreamweaver program, it was still complicated. I had a difficult time finding academic sources that i already did not have. i know that may sound strange, given my topic to be stem cells. Much of the information given in the arguement is from my mutlimodal project. However, i put more of an emphasis on my position page.

Arguement Claim
For the last project in English 105, my arguement claim is with stem cells. I will be supporting the thesis on stem cell ethics. Stem cell research should be allowed in the US and in other counrties as well. If scientists focus a majority of their enegeries on adult stem cells, the debate may be sovled. Also, researchers may also find cures to diseases with adult stems. The ethical debate may be a reason why the US has not had many advancements in this medical field. Some people consider theirselves pro-choice or pro-life for poltical reasons. If everyone could ackonowledge that each side has good points there might be a way to research stem cells, find cures, and make everyone happy.

Reflection-Multimodal
Looking back on this project, i realized it is almost like the hypertext essay. I did both projects on the same topic-stem cells. During the multimodal project i learned so much about stem cells. For instance, they are able to create stem cells inside a lab. This assignment is helpful in that a lot of information needs to be research for the final product. I just wish dreamweaver wasn't so hard to navigate through. I think that the dreamwaever program needs some work. Over all i enjoyed finding additional informational on my topic.

Research Proposal
I would like to write my research paper on stem cells. I think the advancement in curing stem cells is a great topic. The topic covers not only the medical aspect, but also the technology aspect on stem cell research. My view on stem cell research is that it should be allowed, but with limitations. Scientists or researchers of any kind should be forcing women to donate their embryonic cells. Donation should be someone’s choice. I also thought about researching the ethical issue regarding stem cells, but found it to be mainly people’s opinions. Researching the how and what types of diseases we may be able to cure seemed more practical. I am curious to see if anyone else is doing the stem cell research in class. There are so many different ways and interpretations someone can take the research. Overall, I think the best way for me to go is the disease route. There is a ton of info on this topic. It should be somewhat easy to gain info and insight for stem cells.

Reflection Blog
During the course of the hypertext assignment, i learned a lot about my topic. I picked the article concerning stem cells. I learned what and how stem cell research and cloning is. I also researched what the United States is allowedin terms of funding. There is also a ton of info on solutions to the ethical problem stem cell reseach poses. Except for the techonological difficulties during this project, overall it was a good experience. Since there is so much information avaible on this topic, I am going to use this as my big writing project. Iwould gladley do another hypertext essay, as long as we have time to finish our research. Towards the end of this project i felt rushed to finish. So after all the problems we experienced during the project, an extra day would be great!

Technology
Technology is extremely important. We use it in our everyday lives. Without technology there would be no cars to get to class or work. The use of my laptop and ipod are just two examples of technology that I use everyday. The human race has come so far in the technology field. Even people in third world countries use technology to some extent. Without technology there would be no entertainment. Technology is always changing. Without the constant upgrading of our ideas and concepts, we would be in a lot of trouble. For all we know, humans could still be riding a horse to work without technology. We all need to thank scientists, the people who get technology and like figuring things out to make them better. Without the passion that scientists have, we would have never gotten this far in the world. Scientists are always coming up with better ways of doing something. My original point was that technology has influenced all of us and will continue to change for the better. Thanks for reading!

Cyber Culture
I have had a ton of experience with cyber culture. For the most part I grew up on a computer. Whether it was in school or at home I have always had access to one. When I was younger my friends and I would email each other. When Aim came out we sat and talked for long periods of time. Now I am still using Aim. I also use myspace and facebook. These websites help me keep in touch with the people I have graduated with.
Cyber culture has affected my life in both positive and negative ways. Technology has made school projects easier. I am able to talk with another person who could be half way across the world. There are also some negative aspects to cyber culture. There are all sorts of information available to anyone who has a computer. Cyber culture has definitely met expectations. I am sure that cyber culture will someday in the near future astound me with something new.

Popular Culture
Popular culture has definitely shaped at least one aspect in everyone’s lives. Individuals tend to be put into groups. Examples can include children, teens, young adults and adults. In America’s culture, these groups of individuals are expected to act in a certain manner. Popular culture has also forced its way into our lives with things like celebrities, TV shows, movies, and books. Popular culture has even guided me into my clothing style and other things that grab my attention.
Celebrities and Hollywood are by far the biggest cause of popular culture. While popular culture is not a bad thing, the examples that young Hollywood stars are setting is reason enough to turn off the TV and pick up a book every once in awhile. Mass media helps in spreading the biggest trends around the world. The media also has a way of telling people what is right and what is wrong. Some individuals even base their morals on what they see and think is right in the entertainment world.
Popular culture helps define what we as Americana think of the different age groups and how they should act. Popular culture also gives Americans an idea as to what other countries are like and how they respond to American culture. I imagine that people try and imitate what they believe is cool to fit in. Or people are affected by popular culture because that is all they watch, see, and hear about. Everyone is different in their own way and in the end it’s yourself you have to answer to, not Hollywood.

Hello!
My first assignment in English 105 is to describe ourself. I am a 2nd semester freshman at Purdue Calumet. I have two younger sisters. In addition to my sisters, I have 4 step-siblings. My family has two dogs named Jake and Kobie. We also have a snake named Monty. When I am not in class I like to spend time with family and friends. I think it is really important to make time not only for yourself but for the people who will always be there for you. I think it is what helps keep MOST people grounded. Since the semester just began, I wish everyone luck!
